Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain is the first cousin of the now famous Vinicunca but with better accessibility. Its more than nine thousand natural hectares have a color similar to the rainbow, which gives it a joyful and at the same time mystical atmosphere. In addition, on your tour you’ll appreciate a stone forest, ideal for nature lovers.
This attraction is relatively new and many people in the region didn’t know it, since before it was covered by snow, which didn’t allow to see its coloration; However, due to global warming, the snow has disappeared and it’s now possible to appreciate the range of colors in Palccoyo.
Itinerario
Pick up from the hotel will be from 6:30 to 7:00 a.m. once together with the whole group we’ll go to the south of Cusco, our first stop will be in the district of Checacupe in this place we’ll visit three bridges located at the same point, such as the Inca, Colonial and Republican. Then we’ll continue our trip until we reach the Abra Huallata Cunka in the Community of Palccoyo, which is located at 4100 m s. n. m., at this point we can see three mountains of colors. Once ready we’ll begin to walk for 1 hour visiting the Palccoyo Mountain Range and the Stone Forest. After the tour we’ll return to the city of Cusco, on the return we’ll have our lunch in the town of Combapata, arriving in Cusco approx. 6:00 pm.
