Today is a perfect day to immerse yourself in the history and nature of Patagonia by choosing one of the experiences offered at Tierra Patagonia. A great option is to explore the fascinating Hunter’s Trail.
The trail begins with a gradual walk to the north, with the imposing Paine Massif as the backdrop to your adventure. As you progress, the landscape will lead you to a unique archaeological site: a series of rock paintings left by the Aonikenk, an ancient community of hunter-gatherers who inhabited this land over 6,000 years ago.
In addition to its historical richness, this route is an excellent place for wildlife viewing. Along the way, you may encounter guanacos in the wild, foxes peeking through the vegetation, and even condors soaring majestically over the Patagonian skies. A hike full of history, unforgettable landscapes, and wildlife.
Arrival in San Pedro de Atacama
Today marks the beginning of a new adventure in the desert of Chile. After a delicious breakfast, we will take you to the airport for your flight to the fascinating region of San Pedro de Atacama.
Once you land, we will ensure that you arrive comfortably at your accommodation at Explora Lodge. Located in Ayllu de Larache, an ancestral Aymara community, this retreat will allow you to enjoy the serenity of the desert while exploring the unique culture and beauty of this region. Get ready for a stay that will deeply connect you with the history and nature of Atacama.
Discover the Adventures of Explora Lodge
In the morning, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in various activities designed to make the most of your stay. Explora Lodge offers a wide range of options, from guided hikes to bike rides, horseback riding through the desert, and mountain excursions. Each activity is conducted in small groups, no larger than 8 people, ensuring a more personalized experience. The options vary in difficulty levels, catering to all tastes, from the simplest to the most challenging, with durations ranging from half a day to a full day.
After a day full of discoveries, relax and marvel at a night experience at the Explora Observatory, where you can observe the stars in a clear and fascinating sky.
A Day of Flavor and Tradition at Explora Lodge
On your free day, you can choose another activity from the many offered at the lodge. If you’re in the mood for a unique culinary experience, we recommend asking the Explora team about the dinners at the Lodge’s Quincho. A couple of times a week, you can enjoy a delicious barbecue, with lamb, beef, and fish, along with typical regional dishes. All of this will be accompanied by Andean music and exciting performances of traditional dances and songs, provided by local artists, creating a memorable evening full of flavor and culture.
