Arrive at the Chaica River Falls for a bit of rest while admiring the scenery. Just a short way ahead is the last part of the trail where the Millenial Alerce Tree stands. Take some time to stand in the presence of this historic giant, thought to be the world’s oldest tree.

Flight to Punta Arenas

Today, you’ll fly to Torres del Paine National Park, one of the most famous natural preserves in the world. We’ll pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the airport for the short flight to Punta Arenas. Once you land, we’ll escort you directly to the Explora Lodge in Torres del Paine National Park.

Flight to Santiago

Today, you will say goodbye to Torres del Paine as you head north. Depending on your departure time, you may be able to do a final half-day excursion, like Aonikenk or Chorrillo Pingo trekking. When it’s time for your flight, a shuttle will pick you up from the hotel and take you to Punta Arenas airport, where you’ll travel to Santiago for a brief one-night pit stop.

Tomorrow you’ll fly north to begin your journey to San Pedro de Atacama, the gateway to the Atacama Desert, Earth’s driest terrain with otherworldly scenery.

This morning you’ll take a short flight to Calama before being driven to the Explora Atacama Lodge in Ayllu de Larache.

Full day hike to Cajon del Maipo and El Morado

Today you’ll enjoy a private guided experience, starting with the trip to Lo Valdes, a small village located 93km away from Santiago in the mountain area called “Cajón del Maipo.” Here, you’ll be able to enjoy a gorgeous light hike to a hanging glacier inside the “El Morado” Natural Monument. The evening will be yours to enjoy at leisure, so savor every moment wandering Santiago.

Valparaiso / Matetic vineyard wine tasting

Today, relax with a day trip to Valparaíso, one of the most important port towns in the country. This picturesque city, hangs on the hills in a stunning way, with an official UNESCO World Heritage historic center.

Start the visiting the tour of the city by visiting Prat pier, a “Puerto” neighborhood that still maintains its heldfast traditions. Afterward, walk in the Alegre and Concepción hills and learn about the architectural and cultural influence of European immigration. Be sure to take note of the vibrant street art that decorates the buildings here.

Later head to the Matetic winery and vineyard located in Rosario valley. The conditions and characteristics of the soil here make it similar to Napa Valley, California. End your day with an indulgent wine tasting of 4 wines of the premium EQ line.

Return to the capital via Viña del Mar

Enjoy a peaceful morning in the seasonal city of Valparaíso before you start the drive back to Santiago.

Long the way, you will be able to stop in Viña del mar for some picturesque views as you stretch your legs and savor your last few hours in Chile. Upon your return to Santiago, you’ll have the afternoon and evening to do as you please.

Tour the capital before you bid farewell to Chile

After an easy morning and delicious lunch, you’ll begin a tour of the city of Santiago. Chile’s capital city is a sophisticated, sprawling metropolis wedged between the Andes and mountainous coastal range, home to roughly one-third of Chile’s population.

We will visit Constitution Square and the palace “La Moneda”, the government’s current headquarters. Explore the “Plaza de Armas,” the main square surrounded by the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Royal High Court’s palace, the Main Post Office, and historic buildings of like the Central Market. Finally, we will head to San Cristobal hill to enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the city and the Andes.

A one-hour walk along a winding trail leads you to the French River, and from there, you’ll make your way to the entrance of the French Valley. As you scramble over large boulders, you’ll catch your first glimpse of the majestic hanging glacier that crowns the valley.

As you continue, you’ll ascend through a landscape that feels like a serene Japanese garden, eventually reaching a viewpoint known as the “Plateau.” Here, you’ll be treated to views of the French Glacier and Paine Grande on one side, while the towering peaks of La Espada, La Hoja, La Máscara, and the north and main horns of Los Cuernos rise on the other. In the distance, the imposing Cerro Catedral and Cerro Fortaleza stand proudly.

Hiking to Grey Viewpoint and Journey Back to Puerto Natales

After departing the French sector in the morning, your path will take you to the southwest side of Paine Grande, the tallest peak in Torres del Paine. You’ll pass through vibrant firebush and evergreen forests, eventually reaching the shores of Pehoe Lake. As you pass the Refugio Paine Grande, you’ll climb 200 meters along a winding, narrow trail that leads to Laguna Los Patos. In the morning, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in various activities designed to make the most of your stay. Explora Lodge offers a wide range of options, from guided hikes to bike rides, horseback riding through the desert, and mountain excursions. Each activity is conducted in small groups, no larger than 8 people, ensuring a more personalized experience. The options vary in difficulty levels, catering to all tastes, from the simplest to the most challenging, with durations ranging from half a day to a full day.

On your free day, you can choose another activity from the many offered at the lodge. If you’re in the mood for a unique culinary experience, we recommend asking the Explora team about the dinners at the Lodge’s Quincho. A couple of times a week, you can enjoy a delicious barbecue, with lamb, beef, and fish, along with typical regional dishes. All of this will be accompanied by Andean music and exciting performances of traditional dances and songs, provided by local artists, creating a memorable evening full of flavor and culture.

Start your last day in Atacama with a peaceful breakfast, before exploring the tranquil self-guided trails surrounding the Explora property or relaxing in the comfort of your room.
At the designated time, we will escort you to the airport for your flight back to Santiago, the vibrant capital of Chile. Make the most of your last day by strolling through its streets, immersing yourself in its rich history, and exploring the unique culture that makes Santiago such a special place.

On the way to Valparaíso, we will make a lovely stop at the Casablanca Valley, where you will discover the art of viticulture for coastal white varieties, such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. This morning, we will take you to the airport for your flight to one of Chile’s most stunning destinations: the Atacama Desert. After a short flight, you will arrive in San Pedro de Atacama, a picturesque town nestled in the heart of the driest desert on the planet.

San Pedro, with its charming adobe houses and cozy restaurants, presents itself as the perfect place to rest and relax while discovering the breathtaking landscapes that this unique corner of Chile has to offer. Today, you will have the chance to marvel at one of nature’s most stunning displays. In the highest geothermal field in the world, you will witness colorful steam columns dancing before your eyes. Afterward, relax and enjoy a soothing bath in the mineral-rich hot springs of El Tatio, surrounded by a unique landscape. Throughout the day, you will explore geological formations that seem to be from another world, in one of the driest and most surprising places you could imagine: the Atacama Desert.

Adventure in the Atacama Salt Flat
Today, you will immerse yourself in the unique beauty of the Atacama Salt Flat, where you will have the opportunity to visit the Cejar Lagoon. Its saline, dense waters will allow you to float peacefully, offering you a truly serene experience. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, with majestic volcanoes and the turquoise waters of the salt flat, this day will be a true marvel for the senses.
Next, you will continue your exploration towards the fascinating Eyes of the Salt Flat, two freshwater wells in the midst of the arid desert, a natural discovery rarely seen. To finish, you will head to Tebinquinche Lagoon, where you can enjoy a snack while watching the Andes magically reflected in the saltwater. A day full of tranquility and natural splendor.

Journey to the Charm of the South: Los Lagos Region

Today, we will take you to the Calama airport for a flight to southern Chile. Upon landing in Puerto Montt, the gateway to the majestic Patagonia, we will transfer you to Puerto Varas. This charming city, known as the “City of Roses,” is located on the shores of the lake, facing the imposing Osorno Volcano, offering spectacular views that will make every moment of your adventure even more memorable.

Adventure Between Volcanoes and Lagoons

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we will head to Ensenada, where we will begin our journey to the picturesque Laguna Verde, located at the foot of the majestic Osorno Volcano. From there, we will take the path toward the slopes of the volcano, embarking on a short walk through the lava fields. Our effort will be rewarded with an impressive view from a lookout, offering a panoramic view of Lake Llanquihue and the beautiful Los Lagos region of Chile. Next, we will stroll through the peaceful forests of Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, the oldest in the country, to marvel at the Petrohué waterfalls, whose green and crystal-clear waters cascade at the foot of the imposing Osorno Volcano.

Today, you will have the entire day to immerse yourself in the beauty and tranquility of Puerto Varas. Enjoy outdoor activities such as a kayak ride through the waters of the National Park, a horseback ride along the shores of Lake Llanquihue, or a tour of one of the charming estates in the area. It’s the perfect day to relax and connect with nature in this special corner of Chile.

Flight to Santiago

At the designated time, we will escort you from your hotel to the Puerto Montt airport for your flight back to the capital city of Santiago. Spend your last day in Chile strolling through the vibrant city, learning about its unique history and valuable culture.
