A Journey

A Journey Through the Andes and the Rainbow Mountain

Start your journey at the town of Phullawasipata, situated at an elevation of 3,700 meters above sea level. From here, the uphill trek begins, and after 1.5 hours of hiking, you will reach the majestic Rainbow Mountains. Once you arrive at the summit, which stands at an impressive 5,100 meters above sea level, you might find yourself out of breath, not because of the altitude but because of the breathtaking views.

We believe that staying at this altitude and soaking in the stunning vistas of the Andes and the Andean fauna will create unforgettable memories.

As you gaze upon the mountains surrounding the area, you’ll be captivated by their vibrant red tones. Take your time to relish the incredible panoramas of the valley and the enigmatic Rainbow Mountain, and don’t forget to capture these moments through photographs or videos.

Exploring the Red Valley

Exploring the Red Valley and Local Culture

Later on, we will descend towards the Red Valley, aptly named due to the unique pigmentation of the earth caused by abundant minerals. To ensure an exceptional experience, we meticulously manage our day’s schedule, avoiding encounters with other tourist groups. This means our journey along this path will be especially unique, as we are likely to be the only group on this route. During the final 1.5 hours of the trek, you will have the chance to marvel at the exquisite artistry of nature. Finally, at our destination, Phullawasipata, our transportation will be ready to whisk us away to a well-deserved and delicious lunch.

During the lunch break, you can visit some of the local family houses and immerse yourself in the lifestyle of these people who still uphold the ancient traditions of the Incas.

Afterward, we will make our way back to Cusco, with an estimated arrival time in the city at around 4:00 pm. Our organized tour will conclude after we transfer you to your hotel, allowing you to enjoy the remainder of the day in this charming city on your own. Don’t forget to savor the popular Pisco Sour or groove to the rhythm of typical Salca music.

Enjoy your hotel night in Cusco.

DAY 5
