Experiential Tour Sacred Valley, Would you like see mostly the best authentic places signed by Inca´s history and taste the real life of local communities? During our unique experiential tour you will reach the biggest treasures of Sacred Valley (Chinchero, Moray, Salineras and Ollantaytambo). You will participate in a community tour in the mountains, where some Andean communities live. Thanks this extraordinary visit of families you can observe their daily chores such as tilling the land, harvesting, planting, agriculture or worship to the Pachamama. You will get the opportunity to learn the process of spinning, weaving and dyeing their garments with natural ingredients.

And how it used to be – the best at the end. Our experiential tour of Cusco will be closed by never-forgot experience, visiting the most famous wonder in the world “the citadel of Machu Picchu”. Throw the lost city of Incas will guide you our specialized tourist guide, who explain the history or purpose all temples and palaces.  After you will fill yourself enough with impressions and spent all memory in your camera, the time to return to Cusco city will be slowly coming.

ITINERARY

DAY 1:

  • 7:30 a.m. pick up from your hotel in Cusco and launch the tour
  • Tour to the Sacred Valley (visiting Chinchero market and Colonial temple, Moray agricultural terraces and the Maras salt mines. Program till 1:00 p.m).
  • 1:30 p.m. typical local lunch in Misminay.
  • In the afternoon – tour to the community and to the viewpoint of the excellent Sacred Valley.
  • Family dinner, clothing typical costumes, campfire and overnight at the family home.

DAY 2:

  • Family breakfast.
  • Experiential Tourism (activities to be carried out, textiles, Agriculture and ceremony of worship to the Pachamama).
  • 1:00 p.m lunch, we will participate in the elaboration of a delicious dish, representative of the “La Pachamanca” area.
  • 3:00 p.m transport to town of Ollantaytambo (30 minutes by car)
  • 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. visiting the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo.
  • 7:00 p.m travel by train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes (1 hour and 30 minutes).
  • Pick up and transfer from train station to hotel.
  • Night in a hotel in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) 3***

DAY 3:

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Transfer by bus to Machu Picchu.
  • Guided tour in Machu Picchu – visiting the most important places, temples and Inca palaces (02 hours approx.).
  • Optional: Hike to Huaynapicchu, Machu Picchu Mountain or Sun Gate Intipunku.
  • Going down by bus to Aguas Calientes.
  • 4:00 p.m. board the train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo.
  • 5:45 p.m. pick up and transportation from Ollantaytambo to Cusco.
  • Transfer to your hotel in Cusco, arrival time approximately 7:45 p.m.

DAY 1

Tour Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu step by step

DAY 1. CUSCO – CHINCHERO – MARAS MORAY – MISMINAY COMUNITY

Our special Cusco Experiential Tour begins at 7:30 a.m. with the pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. We will dart to the upper part of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where several iconic spots are waiting for you. Such as typical market of Chinchero and Colonial temple, The Salt mines of Maras and Moray (agricultural experimentation center). Afterwards we will move to visit community of Misminay, where the residents will give us a nice traditional welcome accompanied by music and dance. Then is necessary to prepare your stomach for delicious experience – it will be serving well-tasting lunch, typical for this Andean the area.

After that we will take a short tour inside the town to learn a little about local customs and traditions. You can also look forward to walk to viewpoint from where you can “hee-hay” over spectacular views of the entire Sacred Valley and the agricultural terraces of Moray.

The night will be about spending lovely time with local people.  After family dinner with a night bonfire full of traditional stories and legends, you will also have the opportunity to dress in typical costumes of the area and share their customs.

DAY 2

DAY 2. VIVENTIAL TOUR – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES TOW

After a delicious family breakfast prepared with natural products from the area, we will have the opportunity to experience and participate in their daily activities which will allow us to share with the families of the community some of their daily chores such as plowing the land, harvesting, planting, agriculture and ceremenony with Pachamama (Mother EARTH). We will also have the opportunity to learn the process of spinning, weaving and dyeing their garments with natural ingredients. The women of this community in charge of this important work, will teach us this procedure using their ancestral techniques which they were inherited from their ancestors.

You can also looking forward to participation in the preparation of a delicious typical dish from the “La Pachamanca” area, which is a dish cooked in pre-heated stones. The food that is “sewn” from the pachamanca ingredients: beef, pork, chicken and guinea pig meats previously seasoned with ingredients such as chincho, huacatay, chili and other spices, mixed together with traditional Andean native products, such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, broad bean pods and eventually yucca. This will be our lunch for the day.

In the afternoon at 3:00 p.m we will say goodbye to the community members of Misminay, and then take our private transport to the town of Ollantaytambo. Here we will have a guided tour of the archaeological complex (1,5 hours). You will get a lot of free time to get known town better also on your own. Here you can see strong connection with old times – most of the houses were built on Inka walls and a large part of the town has the streets, aqueducts and Inka walls still intact. That´s why this town is also known as the city Living Inca of Ollantaytambo.

Finally we will move to the Ollantaytambo train station, to board the train that will take us to the town of Aguas Calientes (the train trip is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes). During traveling you can take delight with views of the entire Urubamba river canyon. After arrival, the hotel staff will be waiting for us to take us to our accommodation, where we will spend the night (Machu Picchu).

DAY 3

DAY 3. TOUR A MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO.

To enjoy magnificent Machu Pichu the most we will start the third day early. After breakfast we will take bus up to Citadel of Machu Picchu. During 2-hours guided tour you will see the most important places of Machu Picchu – all templates and palaces. After the tour you can take free time to explore ruins on your own. Walk to the picturable Inca Bridge or up to Sun Gate, view point where the whole Incas city hidden in mountains is seen almost from bird perspective (optional hike to the Huayna Picchu mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain has an extra cost of $35 USD per person).

At the appropriate time we will descend from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes, where you can relish local gastronomy in various restaurant. Don’t hesitate opportunity also relax in thermos-medical hot spring and during bathing enjoy astounding nature views (Hot springs are located 10 minutes by bus from town and cost 10 soles per person).

At 4 p.m we will say goodbye to Machu Picchu surrounding area and return by bus to Ollantaytambo, where our private transport will pick you up and transfer back to Cusco. Hopefully after the most enjoyable time with us we wish all the best and end our services.

The backpacks can be of any size, but we always recommend smaller ones, since inside Machu Picchu, there are not allowed bags of more than 25 liters. If it is larger, you will need to store them outside the citadel gates.
