Humantay Lake trek is one of the most scenic one day hikes in Peru. You can walk or ride horses up to the lake and relish in stunning views of the Andes. The unbelievable turquoise lake is situated at the base of the majestic Humantay Glacier Mountain. ITINERARY
ITINERARY
Our hike to Humantay Lake will begin with an early morning pick up from your hotel accommodation in Cusco. In our private transportation, we will head from Cusco to the town of Mollepata. This ride will take approximately 2 hours and will have us in Mollepata just in time for breakfast.
The trailhead is at Soraypampa (3800 m.a.s.l. / 12,460 f.a.s.l.). From here, we will begin our hike to Humantay Lake. The hike to the lake will be along a steep, ascending trail and will take approximately 1.5 hrs. The splendid views of Salkantay and Humantay Mountain and the crystalline waters of the lake will reward this effort.
On our return, we will hike back to Soraypampa for lunch. The car drive back to Cusco will be in our private transportation, which will drop you off directly at your accommodation.
